One Week Out

Dear Readers,

Welcome to my new blog.  Some of you have read me before, and I want to thank you for continuing to follow me.  For those of you new to my blog: thank you for being here.

In one week, Ariel and I will fly to Rome, where we will spend a month studying.  He will do a creative writing program through the UW, and I will do two independent study courses through Antioch.

In Rome I will study food, family, history, and culture.  I wanted to start this blog to help organize my travels, as well as provide a means for people to follow us if they wish.

When we are finished in Rome, we will travel north to the Cinque Terre, the French Riviera, Lyon, and Paris, where we will spend our first anniversary.

People have asked if I am excited about our trip.  To that question I can honestly answer: not yet. I think this is because I have no idea what to expect.  I am sure my mind will be blown multiple times every day.  Ariel says he is particularly excited about my independent study in food.

For now we are focused on finishing the quarter, preparing for our departure, and connecting with friends before we leave.

I do feel excited that the next time I write you, I will be in Rome.  That said, I am excited to talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

Carina

  1. Hi Carina!

I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you as I assume you've landed by now. I hope the hotel and key getting and luggage lugging and culture shocking and jet lag all prove easy and smooth. I'm so excited to hear from you and will be thinking of you lots!
